Amaan Khan, undergraduate Board of Governors representative at the University of Alberta.
Hi! My name is Amaan and I'm a fourth-year computing science student, and this year I sit on the Board of Governors, the highest governing body at the University of Alberta, for undergraduate students.
Before this I was a science councillor on Students' Council, the deputy returning officer for the SU, and I've also worked in governance, residence life and in many other roles throughout my university career.
My focus this year is bridging the gap between student representative and the constituents, and making the student experience better! This term I'm on the Audit, Council Administration and Finance Committees of Students' Council.
My goal is three campuses, one student body and one voice at BoG. I'm not here for myself. I'm here for the students I represent.
I love rock climbing, cats, and yapping! Find me on campus at my office in SUB 0-56, or book a time through my booking links! I am also down to go rock climbing anytime.

Three things I took to the election and take into every Board meeting.
Decisions made at the Board directly affect student life. I bring data and real student stories into the room.
A lot of what happens at BoG happens behind closed doors. I push for openness and plain-language updates.
Students should know what the Board does and what their rep does. I consult Augustana, Campus Saint-Jean and student associations like the ISA and ISU.
